There’s no denying, Android was the face of smartphones in 2012. With 93.8 million phones that use Android in the US, it’s no surprise. By the fourth quarter of 2012 there was 152 million Android phone sales worldwide.
So how did they get there? A lot could be said for their apps, a point in their development that had previously held them back. New Android accessable apps were pushed out faster than ever before, tens of thousands every month. By December, there were currently 800,000 apps in the Google Play store, up from 425,000 just eleven months earlier, garnering millions of dollars in daily revenue.
