Apple Launches iOS 8.1, here is what you can do with it

iOS 8.1

We all very well know what a rough time Apple has had with the launch of iOS 8. Some major features were absent (that users would have liked) and it still contains many bugs. To resolve all this, Apple released iOS 8.1 update and it is said to contain many bug fixes. It is a better update when compared with its earlier versions iOS 8.0.1 and iOS 8.0.2.  Some of the changes are listed below.

Apple Pay support is available in the US for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. One can see some improvements in the Photos app like restoring the Camera Roll album in the Photos app. Another good news is that from now, you will be to receive and send SMS messages from iPad or a Mac.

Also, it fixes a Wi-Fi performance issue and allows you to choose between 2G, 3G or LTE networks when using cellular data. You can even find many Accessibility improvements. iOS 8.1 also has support for Apple Pay.

Now that we have seen the improvements in iOS 8.1, let us see how to download it. First of all you need to make sure that your Apple device is compatible. Remember that iOS 8.1 iPad2 and newer, 5th generation iPod Touch, iPhone 4S or newer and iPad Mini and newer.

Follow the steps given here : Select Settings →General →Software Update →Download and Install. In case you don’t see the option of Download and Install, then it indicates that you do not have sufficient free space on your device to download iOS 8.1. It requires 69.9 MB of free space on an iPhone 5. Or if you are worried that the same thing will happen as it did it iOS 8.0.1, you could wait for a couple of days before you update to check out if there are any bug reports.
