Asylum Designs a Crystal LED Pipe that Can Emit 16 Million Colors

The engineers at Asylum have been assigned a project by a private commission, that involves a domestic installation a pipe covered in translucent gems that light up to decorate a construction feature within a room. The pipe covering includes 2,912 control modules for the RGB LEDs and are controlled by a dedicated Linux PC built into the design. The team has created a web page accessible via mobile phone, which allows the client to customize the shades, hues, and patterns at a click of a button to create any atmosphere he or she would like to inhabit.
