Brazilian artist Eduardo Galvani has created the next-generation E-car dubbed the “Nimbus” that could provide the greenest road trip experience ever.
The Nimbus concept e-car is a bulbous van-like hybrid that looks like the modern successor to the classic VW Microbus.
“About the inspiration: Since I was a child, I think about [designing] vehicles,” Galvani said. “Its main characteristics are from the age we are living now, a clear global transition between the old and the new economy, between the old and the new ways of ecological thinking and practices.”
Galvani reveals the features of how the E-car would operate: the van is crafted out of lightweight carbon fiber, aluminium, and titanium. Powered by a 130-kilowatt electric motor, the E-car boasts on-demand four-wheel drive. There’s also an onboard microgenerator for backup battery-pack charging. Obstacle detection and a back-up camera strive to simplify parking, while auto-pilot cruise control could make for an even more futuristic feel while behind the wheel. There’s onboard Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, so yu can upload heavily filtered cameraphone pictures of whatever epic planetary landscape you’re traversing.
With all that tech inside, Nimbus has the potential of touring a national park on Mars.

Galvani imagines the Nimbus would offer four drive modes, including 4WD. It would also have sensors for obstacle detection.

The 130Kw (180hp) electrical engine would be mounted in the back and also powered by a gasoline engine.

Galvani says the Nimbus would have a “safe virtual position,” with drivers and passengers situated high above the ground.
