With the release of Apple Watch and two new iPhone models, Apple Inc. has become the talk of the tech world. But the crowd at New York Fashion Week was busy admiring a very different Apple product: Elie Tahari’s iPhone dress.
Elie Tahari, Israeli-American luxury fashion designer showed off the tech savvy creation during his spring 2015 fashion collection earlier this week at the Elie Tahari Vault on 5th Avenue in Manhattan. The dress is designed using over 50 iPhone 5S models incorporated into a black, sleeveless mesh dress.
A spokesperson for the designer told the Daily Dot that the model wearing the iPhone dress circulated around the arena during the event so that the visitors can capture all angles of presentation. If you get closer to her you can see yourself on the dress. It captures what the dress sees. The dress was simply designed to establish a connection between technology and fashion.
Mr. Tahari was very much moved by the vision of Steve jobs, and his lasting impact on our lifestyles. He noticed the two presentations were coinciding, and used it to tie fashion and technology together.
