At WorldWide Developers Conference in June, Apple demoed Metal, a new tool designed to improve game performance on iOS. Epic Garden is now available for a free download in the App Store letting users experience some strange things that will be possible in iOS games in the near future.
Although this is more of a tech demo than a full- fledged game, you can still have fun raking the sand or playing with the fish in the pond. There are lot of things to explore which show off the power of the GPU in your iOS device. It looks pretty good.
The game is compatible with an iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air or iPad mini with Retina display. If you try to download the game on older devices, it will crash upon launch without warning.
In the App Store, Apple is listing other Titles that are supported by Metal to enhance their visuals, although none are as awesome as Epic Zen Garden.
If you are interested to learn more about how the Metal works, Epic Zen Garden and the Unreal Engine 4 will work can be watched in the video below.
