With Christmas approaching, most of us will be deciding which mobile phone to lay our hands on. Well, the new and most exciting ones in the market presently are the iPhone 6 Plus and Samsung Galaxy Note 4. So, in case you are confused with which one to get, we’ll just see the pros and cons of both and decide which one is the best.
Galaxy Note 4: Metal edge, plastic back, 8.5mm size
iPhone 6 Plus: Curved aluminum, 7.1 mm size
Samsung rarely gets credit for its design and this time, it sported a metallic finish for the first time in the Galaxy Note range. However, it is obvious that Apple has the lead here. It has a curved aluminum body which is not only attractive, but also easier to hold. The slim device makes a great first impression and attracts consumers. So, we will have to give this one to Apple.
Note 4: 5.7-inch 2,560 x 1,440 Super AMOLED, scratch resistant glass
iPhone 6: 5.5-inch 1,920 x 1080 LCD, scratch resistant glass
Samsung has always given importance to the quality of its screens and it has done so in the Galaxy Note 4 too. The quad HD Super AMOLED display in the Galaxy Note 4 is quite impressive and also has a larger pixel resolution compared to the iPhone 6. Also, it offers better contrast and black levels. This means that Note 4 is much easier to use in a darkened room in particular. So, in display, we believe that Samsung has the upper hand.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: 32-bit 2.7 GHZ Quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor, Adreno 420 GPU, 3GB RAM
iPhone 6 Plus: 64-bit Apple A8 dual-core 1.4GHz, GPU PowerVR GX6450, 1GB RAM, M8 co-processor
Well, we might as well tell that Samsung wins here! I mean, it’s obvious – it has impressive specs, and a more powerful processor. Also, it has more RAM. Tests have even shown that Note 4 is significantly ahead of iPhone 6 plus in performance.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: single rear-mounted speaker
iPhone 6 Plus: Single speaker on bottom edge
Here, the speaker system in the iPhone 6 Plus has greater depth and hence, it wins the battle in this category.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: Android 4.4 KitKat
iPhone 6 Plus: iOS 8.1
Although Android offers a flexible OS, iOS 8 is actually far slicker. So, if you were new to smartphones, iPhone 6 Plus would definitely be a no brainier selection. So again, Apple wins.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: 16-megapixel sensor, optical image stabilization, 3.7-megapixel front-facing camera, 4K video recording
iPhone 6 Plus: 8-megapixel camera sensor, optical image stabilization, 1.2-megapixel front-facing camera, 1080p HD video recording
Although both cameras have the capacity to take high quality pictures, Galaxy Note 4 is unable to take photographs in low light conditions. iPhone 6 plus has exceptional video capturing and it is the winner here.
Samsung Galaxy Note 4: 3220mAh battery
iPhone 6 Plus: 2915 mAh
It is an obvious fact that Note 4 is superior when it comes to battery life. It has a powerful battery and lasts much longer than iPhone 6 Plus.
So, if you want a compact smartphone, then iPhone 6 Plus is the right choice. It is light, slim and elegant. But, it is not as powerful as Galaxy Note 4 which is also more innovative. So, it depends on what you look for in a phone and we have to agree that both the devices have particular assets and qualities.
