Gmail 5.0 for Android comes with support for non-Gmail accounts

Gmail 5.0 on Android

The latest version of the Gmail app, Gmail 5.0 is now available on Google Play. The newest version of the Gmail app brings material design and adds support for Yahoo Mail, and corporate Exchange accounts. Thus, with Gmail 5.0, users will be able to access all their email in a single place and easily switch between other email accounts just like they would do with Gmail accounts.

On checking the Google Play store, the update hasn’t appeared yet and it’s unclear if it’ll come to iOS. Luckily, Android Police has just acquired the APK format and has shared it on its APK website. So you can download it right now and don’t have to wait for the update through Google Play.

Download the new version of Gmail app from APK Mirror website. Hit the notification and then select the Install button. This APK is signed by Google for authenticity, which means that it will upgrade the version of Gmail you have currently installed.

You can sign in using your current Gmail account or you can add accounts from other apps. If you add multiple accounts and want to check the inbox, start swiping from the left, then tapping on the account. To enable the Exchange Support, users need to download an additional APK.
