Google Now Launcher Extends its Support to any Device Running Android 4.1 or Higher

The brand new Google Now Launcher was earlier limited to only Nexus and Google Play edition devices, though it was possible to make it compatible across other phones and tablets. But now, folks owning any handset running Android 4.1 and newer can grab the feature, even if it’s absent one of the aforementioned monikers. The Google Now Launcher integrates Google’s virtual assistant service into a permanent pane to the left of the primary homescreen and has larger app icons than the standard launcher that comes on many Android phones.

Android Central reports that the special app launcher appears to be compatible with a wide range of devices including the HTC One M8, One E8, One Mini 2, Desire 816, Huawei Ascend P7 and LG G3, among others.

The Google Now Launcher follows after a number of other Google-made apps that have made their ways to the broader Android Universe, including Google Calendar, Google Keyboard, and Google Camera.

Google Now Launcher is available for free download from the Google Play Store.
