Do you remember what it was like back in the old days where you actually had to get up off the couch to change the channel to see what else was on television? If you’re like most people, probably not. You’re of the instant gratification age where everything is at your fingertips? Is this a good thing? Technological innovation would have us believe so, but I’m not so sure that instant gratification is always such a good thing.

The remote control has a long and storied past in our society. Everything from unmanned airplanes and boats to universal remotes from the consumer electronics side give the promise of a better, easier life. That said, is the remote control actually leading to the downfall of society? It isn’t like you’re getting so much exercise from getting off the couch, but what about more practical risks such as hacking vulnerabilities over wifi?
