Well, in the new version of Windows, Microsoft has changed the name of “My Computer” to “This PC”. I have to agree, it was annoying enough when it was changed to “Computer”. If you are one of those people who are unhappy with the name and want it back to “My Computer” or something totally different, it is quite easy to rename it.
The method is really simple. Just like the others, right click and click on ‘Rename’. Now, you can type whatever you want to name it. This method was tested in Windows 7, 8 and 10 and it works just fine on all of them. However, there are some places like the Start Screen where it won’t be updated with the name you give.
The settings take place everywhere but still sometimes you will have to refresh the desktop to make it show up. Sometimes, you’ll even have to close Windows Explorer and open another window to see the updated name. After updating the name, you can see that even the icon on the desktop will also be renamed.
This technique is a really simple one which most of you will know and it might sound cheesy putting it up. But in case you didn’t there’s nothing to be ashamed of! You might’ve even forgotten. So, hope this was helpful.
