Now, mark the check box of “Through the Internet” option to allow the Virtual Private Network Connections over the Internet. And if are using any dial-up hardware, you could allows the incoming network connection on that modem too.

In order to enable the Incoming network connections, you must mark the check box of “Internet Protocol”. And if you want to allows the users connected to the VPN server to access the shared files and the attached printers (connected via local network), you must mark the check box of “File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks”. And after clicking the Allow access button, window will automatically set up Virtual Private Network Server.

In future, if you want to disable the created VPN server. Just open the network connection window (by typing ncpa.cpl after pressing the window button) and delete the Incoming Connections Option.

Steps to Setup Router

After the VPN server setup, you need to do the router setup. For that, you’ve to open the router setup window and pass the port 1723 ahead to the Internet Protocol Address of the computer where you have created the VPN Server.

In order to have good security, you must make a port forwarding method which passes the external port to the internal port on your device. Basically, it allows you to connect the VPN Server through the external port and also provides the safeguard from malicious problems.

To remain always connected to VPN Server, you should set up DNS Server on your computer.
