Lenovo launches Tab S8, its first Intel-powered Android Tablet for $199

Ahead of IFA 2014, laptop computer giant Lenovo will be presenting its first-ever 8-inch Intel Atom-powered Android tablet, Tab S8 priced at $199. The slate runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box, and sports an 8-inch full HD WUXA IPS display powered by One Glass solution touch-panel technology for enhanced clarity.

Tab s8 is powered by 64-bit Bay Trail processor with Intel Burst Performance Technology and 2GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal built storage. The front panel is equipped with a 1.6-megapixel camera for video calling, and an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with a wide aperture f2.2 lens graces the rear of the Tab S8. The front panel also features speakers powered by Dolby Audio. The Tab S8 will be available in Ebony, Blue, Canary, Yellow and White color variants.

Additional, the tablet features include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/g, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity. It comes with pre-installed apps like SHAREit, which enable easy photo and file sharing. Finally, it is packed with a non-removable 4290mAh Li-ion battery, which promises to deliver up to 7 hours of usage time and up to 400 hours of standby time.The tablet measures 209.8 X 123.8 X7.9mm and weighs 299 grams.

The company is also one among the top four largest smartphone suppliers globally and is rumored to be introducing new smartphones at IFA for sale in China and in other parts of the world where it sells smartphones. Lenovo is known for shipping more smartphones than PCs hence, it is the No.1 smartphone seller in China.
