Over the years, we have seen the Chinese come up with tiny sticks which can be plugged into a TV to run Android apps. They look very similar to USB flash drives. But, they have an HDMI connector instead of the USB connector. Moreover, they are quite heavy for a flash drive.
A new Intel Bay Trail Atom–powered HDMI stick has appeared online and it is called the Meegopad T01. Unlike the other devices, which appear to be flooding the market these days, this device is a full x86 compatible PC. It is manufactured by the Shenzhen Apec Electronics Ltd. and is available on AliExpress for $123.39 (including shipping). But, this price does not include an OS. However, you can easily load Linux, Android, Windows or any other Atom-friendly OS for that matter you want, onto it.
Well, I know what you are thinking! ‘What can you stuff into a PC this small?’ Right? Along with the quad-core Bay Trail processor, it has 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a micro SD expansion slot and Bluetooth 4.0.
The guts in here are quite the same as what you would find inside the $65 Windows tablet which showed up earlier this week.
