In the past few years, we have seen bikes made from all sorts of strange materials such as wood;  we have also seen Ski bikes, couch bikes, and so on. But so far we haven’t seen a bike made from recycled carpet. Yes, Wishbone Design Studio has created a fantastic 3-in- 1 Wishbone Bike Recycled Edition (RE), which can re-size and grow with a child.

Starting at 12 months, the Wishbone is a 3 wheel run bike, it gives kids the confidence to walk and then ride. It weighs just 8 pounds and is easy for your toddler to maneuver. When your kids are ready, you can detach the third wheel to make a perfect bicycle so that your child can learn to balance on two wheels.

As your child grows, raise the adjustable seat up to 18 inches off the ground and flip the Wishbone frame to transform Bike into one of the largest balance bikes on the market. The weather-proof rigid frame and air tires make the bike more attractive. The bike’s seat is padded and narrower than most seats so that it offers comfort to kids while riding.

The secret to Wishbone Bike’s customizable seat is its patented Rotafix frame system. It is an innovative frame system that lets you resize the Bike’s seat and frame in seconds.

Wishbone bike is made from 100% post-consumer recycled residential nylon carpet- quite interesting! It’s collected from houses in the U.S shaved to remove the backing, and shredded. Glass fiber is added for extra strength and crafted into millions of little resin pellets, ready for installing into a bike frame.

Each Wishbone Bike Recycled Edition clears 7.5 lbs of used carpet from landfills, as well as saves over 5 liters of oil. The Bike has been awarded the New Zealand’s Best Product Design. The Bike is currently available in Black with black seat and is priced at $275.00. However, the accessories such as seat covers and handle grips are available in different colors.
