Philips has launched an all new smartphone- Philips Xenium X2566, for senior citizens that are generally left behind from the latest technological advancements.

These handsets generally feature large font size, long lasting battery life and SOS function that make reading messages on the phone and dialing phone numbers very easy. It contains a magnifier to enlarge the text on the screen along with a flashlight. They also include FM Radio with high volume loudspeaker, and SOS buttons that dial three designated emergency numbers such as of the doctor, emergency services or a close relative. We believe this is a special treat for the aged as we have witnessed our grannies and grandpas not being comfortable with the complicated functionality of smartphones when using it for the first time.

As for specifications, the dual-SIM supporting phone comes in blue color with a 2.4 inch 320X420 pixel resolution TFT display. The smartphone also makes room for a 16GB microSD card and is powered by a 1630 mAh battery that supports 1128 hours of standby time and up to 24 hours of talk time.

That said, the Xenium X2566 is priced Rs 3,800 and is available across all leading stores in India.
