The Facebook-owned instant messaging service WhatsApp has finally received the long rumored app update. The latest version of WhatsApp- 2.11.14, adds support for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus’ increased screen size along with fixes that should address bugs and crashes as mentioned on the iTunes App store. Till now, the app was basically scaled to fit new screens which didn’t look and work as good as app’s on native solution.
Recently, WhatsApp added a nifty feature that would enable users to check whether recipients have read their message or not with the help of two blue ticks. Unfortunately, the new update on iOS doesn’t include this feature as well. iPhone users still don’t see these blue ticks.
As far as upcoming features in WhatsApp are concerned, users are waiting for the highly requested feature- voice-calling service for WhatsApp. It was said to be introduced this year but has been delayed and will arrive in the first quarter of 2015.
If you’re using any of Apple’s latest models, you can grab the latest update of WhatsApp on the App Store. Alternatively those without Apple’s latest models can still go ahead and update their app to get the bug fixes.
