Do American adults prefer a tech savvy lover—or the gym rat? About 29 percent of all U.S. adults prefer a partner who spends a lot of time at the gym while 71 percent prefer one who is super handy with computers and gadgets. Of all adults, older ones (55+) are more likely to prefer tech savvy lovers. There’s no denying that today’s ladies love the tech nerdiness. Over two-thirds of all U.S. adults agree that women find “tech savvy guys” more attractive now than they did five years ago.
Since women love the tech, men have been inclined to exaggerate their tech prowess. About 67 percent of all U.S. adults agree men have exaggerated their tech abilities—and younger adults (18-34) are more likely than older ones to strongly agree with this. Would you break up with someone if they weren’t as tech savvy as they claimed to be? About 12 percent of U.S. adults would end a relationship over this lie. Please note that these gender stats are based on an online study conducted by Harris Interactive and are for women who prefer men, and men who prefer women romantically.
